Will Obeid

Will Obeid leverages years of experience in real estate development and hospitality to serve as principal of Arcade Capital LLC. Since founding the company in 2014, he has focused on investing in retail, hospitality, and residential development projects in the top 25 markets in the country. Will Obeid draws on his interest in wellness to inspire his company’s work. Over the years, he has overseen several development initiatives that have transformed built environments into spaces that promote health and wellness.

At Arcade Capital, Will Obeid targets upper-upscale hospitality properties with unique features like beachfront property, hiking trails, and natural hot springs. He also targets upscale retail projects that incorporate spas, healthy eating, and other wellness and luxury lifestyle amenities. In 2017, he acquired the Minnewaska Lodge and is transforming it into a boutique wellness destination where guests can connect with nature and find rejuvenation.

From 2017 to 2019, Mr. Obeid also served as head of the hospitality division with Kushner Companies in New York. In this capacity, he built a new management team to lead the company’s resorts. Concurrently, he played a lead role in several new hotel projects, including the Wave Resort, which received much praise. He was also responsible for vetting hotel operators and finding new sources of capital for Kushner.

Earlier in his career, Will Obeid was the CEO and president of Gemini Real Estate Advisors LLC, a company he co-founded in 2003. During his 11 years with the firm, he created and drove the growth of two highly successful upscale hotel brands: The Jade Hotel and The Gem Hotel. He also assembled an investment portfolio worth more than $1.5 billion and acquired, developed, and operated hotels in New York, Boston, and Miami Beach.

Mr. Obeid began his career at The Blackstone Group and later at CitiGroup in investment banking after earning a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Michigan. He is a sought-after speaker in his industry and has served as a moderator or panelist at several conferences, and has authored articles on hospitality trends, ground leases, and other real estate investment topics.
